About the Project
Honest Greens in Alvalade is the most structurally complex project to date in the partnership between Huître and this sustainable restaurant chain. Unlike the other outlets, this 800 m² space required a complete overhaul: total demolition of the existing structure, extensive structural reinforcement and the construction of a staircase connecting the floors. The result is a restaurant with an integrated terrace where raw materials – reclaimed timber, natural stone, clay – create a large-scale organic atmosphere, with industrial automation for total control of the environment.
Key Challenges
Coordinating more than 100 subcontractors on a major refurbishment project in a residential area of Lisbon was the biggest management challenge of this project. Noise and scheduling restrictions imposed by the Alvalade neighbourhood necessitated a strict phasing of the heaviest works. The creation of the staircase between floors, within a new structure, required structural compatibility and technical approvals within a very tight schedule.
